ABDALLAH OUZGHAR SENTENCED TO 4 YEARS
A French court, on Thursday 12/03/2009, sentenced Abdallah Ouzghar, a Moroccan-born Canadian and a former “Roubaix Gang” member to four years in prison for providing fake identity papers to Islamic extremists who allegedly plotted terror attacks.
Abdallah Ouzghar had been living in Canada, on and off, since 1990 and had received Canadian citizenship in 1994. A French court had already convicted him in absentia for terror offenses in 2001 and sentenced to five years for his ties to the "Roubaix gang" of ex-fighters in Bosnia.
Abdallah Ouzghar, 45, was arrested in Toronto a month after The 9/11 for his ties with Ahmed Ressam and the Montreal 99 cell.
Abdallah Ouzghar, a close associate of Fateh Kamel, was found guilty of conspiracy to take part in a terrorist enterprises and complicity to produce forged documents, six months after he was extradited to France. Giving the fact that Abdallah Ouzghar is serving, already, over 8 years in detention he supposes to be released immediately.
