MILITANTS
Mumbai was on high alert, on Friday 12/24/2010, after authorities said four terrorists had entered the country and were plotting attacks during the holidays.
Mumbai police officials said late Thursday 12/23/2010 night that they suspected that the men belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba, the group that committed th Mumbai Carnage in 11/2008. The police released a sketch of one of the men, identified as Waleed Jinnah (pic), and asked the public to call the police if they saw Waleed Jinnah or had any information about the attackers. The other three were identified as Abdul Karim Moosa, Noor Elahi and Mahfoos Alam.
This is the second time in four months that police here have said terrorists were planning to attack Mumbai, India’s financial capital and the most dynamic city (see - CG Threat 10.01.10). In September, police released the sketch of another terrorist who they said was planning an attack to coincide with a religious festival.
