BANGLADESHI ARRESTED OVER TERROR
Indian anti terror police squad - ATS arrested, on Saturday 06/21/2008, in Kanpur, a town South-East of Delhi in the state of Uttar Pradesh, a Bangladeshi national, Mohd Ibrahim, suspected to be a resident agent of an espionage ring or a terror group.
Mohd Ibrahim arrived to India, with his brother Ahmed Ibrahim, in 03/2008 from Saudi Arabia. The two brothers stayed at a religious seminary for more than three weeks at Hyderabad, despite expiry of their visas, and visited terror-hit cities like the Hyderabad Attack , Ajmer and Agra.
Mohd Ibrahim and Ahmed Ibrahim lived in a house in Kanpur owned by a Saudi friend known as Kalam. The ATS had been in a hot pursuit since June 5 after they were tipped off about Ibrahim's overstay in the country.
Without heaving a known source of income Mohd Ibrahim had been trying for an Indian passport and had secured a driving licence. More intriguing was his use simultaneously of four SIM cards - three Indian and one Bangladeshi.
According to Mohd Ibrahim’s call details, he was in Jaipur three days before the Jaipur Bombings rocked the Pink City.
Initial findings suggest that Ibrahim is a resident of Wazir Bhita, Kala Miyan Bazar in Chittagong, Bangladesh (reportedly a HUJI-B stronghold). He was in Saudi Arabia and entered India from Benapol port in Kolkata with his brother Ahmed.
Ahmed Ibrahim went missing and is wanted by the Indian police.
