Daniel  Martin Schneider

Daniel  Martin Schneider, an ethnic German was born in 1986 in Saarbrücken on the border with France. He grew up in middle-class Christian homes and went to high schools in sleepy suburban neighborhoods.

Daniel  Martin Schneider was a close friend of Eric Breininger, who was born in the same region and acquainted with Fritz Gelowicz, who was few years older. He converted to Islam following his parents' divorce in his teenage.

Daniel  Martin Schneider was described as a good and inconspicuous student. He abruptly left high school two years before graduating and enrolled in a technical college, because, according to the daily Suddeutsche Zeitung, he wanted to go to a school "where only men teach."

After being acquainted with Turks and Pakistanis Muslim workers in his training workplace, he joined the radical "Islamic Jihad Union" (-IJU) under the influence and leadership of Fritz Gelowicz.

In 04/2007 Daniel  Martin Schneider moved to a rundown house on the outskirts of Saarbrücken, with a makeshift prayer room known as the Omar Mosque in the backyard. Living off unemployment benefits, he shared a small apartment with two Tunisian students and another German convert, Eric Breininger, according to his Jordanian-born landlord, Jamil Khalil. In late 08/2007 Eric Breininger left to Pakistan for military training.

On 09/04/2007, Daniel  Martin Schneider was arrested as a prime suspect in the Ramstein Plot. He was also accused of taking the pistol of a policeman during the arrest and trying to kill the policeman.
