SHEHZAD TANWEER

Shehzad  Tanweer, a British citizen, was born on 12/15/1982 in Bradford to a family from Pakistani descent. His father came to UK from Faisalabad region in Pakistan. At the age of two, in 1984, Shehzad  Tanweer sí family moved to Beeston near Leeds, to Mohammad Sidique Khanís neighborhood. Shehzad  Tanweer, studied at the Deobandi seminary in Dewsbury and Mohammad Sidique Khan, were regular worshippers at the adjoining Tablighi-Jamaat Mosque.

Shehzad  Tanweer was described as politically moderate by his friends, who knew him as an outstanding sportsman and excelling at cricket. He was a student in Leeds Metropolitan University and worked occasionally in his father's fish and chips shop.

In 2003 Shehzad  Tanweer went to fulfill the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

In early 2004 he traveled to Pakistan to attend Islamic studies in a Madrasa. He did not attend a specific Mosque although he prayed regularly.

Shehzad  Tanweer met frequently Mohammad Sidique Khan and Hasib Mir Hussain when he volunteered to work with deprived youth in the Leeds in Hamara Youth Access Point (HYAP), an Islamic charity, partly funded by the UK government, a drop-in center for teens in Leeds. In HYAP Mohammad Sidique Khan, probably, recruited Shehzad  Tanweer to his terror cell and to the London 7/7 attack

Shehzad  Tanweer and Mohammad Sidique Khan visited together Pakistan, for the last time, on 11/19/2004 and came back together to UK on 02/08/2005. In Pakistan Shehzad  Tanweer and Mohammad Sidique Khan established contact with Haroon Rashid Aswat, a former neighbor of Mohammad Sidique Khansí family from Dewsbury, South of Leeds. It is not clear how Shehzad  Tanweer and Mohammad Sidique Khan spend 3 month in Pakistan. But, according to Zeeshan Siddiqui's own diary, confiscated by the Pakistani police in 05/2005, he went through paramilitary training in North-West Pakistan.

Some of his relatives in Faisalabad, Pakistan, told Pakistani investigators, after the London 7/7 attack, that Shehzad  Tanweer boasted that he was going to be a Mujahid, holly warrior, and spent time with local Islamic extremists.

Sometime in mid 04/2005 a MI5 surveillance team monitoring Omar Khyam filmed and taped meeting between Omar Khyam, described as the top Al Qaeda figure in UK, Mohammad Sidique Khan, Shehzad  Tanweer and Waheed Ali, a member of the alleged Leeds Cell, in the streets of East London discussing plans to fight alongside the Taliban in Afghanistan. Later, on another occasion in late 04/2005, the surveillance teem followed Omar Khyam meeting with the Canadian citizen from Pakistani descent Mohammed Momin Khawaja.

On the morning of 07/07/2005 Shehzad  Tanweer, with his three friends, traveled with a car from Leeds to Luton, 30km north of London, and took the train from Luton to Kingís Cross station in London. Shehzad  Tanweer blew himself up on 08:51 in the tube between Liverpool and Aldgate East stations under Edgware Road. A parallel passing train was also damaged.

Summary

Shehzad  Tanweer sí martyr videotape was broadcasted in Al Jajeera TV nework on 06/06/2006. It is most likely, according to the background and light, that the footage was taken at the same time and place as Mohammad Sidique Khansí martyr videotape that was broadcasted in Al Jajeera on 09/01/2005. In the videotape, which included remarks by Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiri, Shehzad  Tanweer said: - "What have you witnessed now is only the beginning of a string of attacks that will continue and become stronger until you pull your forces out of Afghanistan and Iraq, and until you stop your financial and military support to America and Israel". This phrase provided logical explanation, from Shehzad  Tanweer sí point of view, to the London 7/7 attack.
