Just 5 days after Sheikh Muawiya Jebara, a senior member of the “Salahuddin Awakening Council”, was killed, another leader of the “Salahuddin Awakening Council” Thamer Ibrahim Atallah escaped an attack, on 10/09/2007, after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives outside the home in Baiji 200km north of Baghdad.
Thamer Ibrahim Atallah is one of the tribal leaders who recently switched sides from insurgency to become a pro USA ally fighting Al Qaeda in Salahuddin province in Iraq.
