Mullah Nazeer Ahmed Hamza, was born in 1975 in Bermel, the Afghan side of South Waziristan. Mullah Nazeer Ahmed graduated the primary education in the local Madrassa, acquired religious education at the Central Madrassa at Wana, the capital of South Waziristan ¨CFATA region.
During his education in 1995-98, Mullah Nazeer Ahmed participated in the Afghan civil war with the Taliban Mujahideen after the conquest of Mazar Sharif.
Mullah Nazeer Ahmed became one of the warlords of South Waziristan and provided support to the Taliban in Afghanistan after operation Absolute Justice in 12/2001. He was, on and of, a rival and a copartner with the other warlord of South Waziristan Baitullah Mehsud.
In summer 2007 Mullah Nazeer Ahmed¡¯s tribe raised against the presence of about 1,200 Uzbek militants who were concentrated around Wana, the capital of South Waziristan after complaints of target-killing, kidnapping for ransom and other crimes against the Uzbeks grew. Many of the Uzbeks were forced to leave the region and returned to Uzbekistan. Hundreds Uzbek and 50 local tribesmen were killed in the clashes. The event caused temporary tension between the Taliban in Afghanistan and Mullah Nazeer Ahmed.
From early 2008 Mullah Nazeer Ahmed is one of the main leading figures in the Tehrik-e-Taleban alliance and is cooperating with Baitullah Mehsud. Mullah Nazeer Ahmed is a member of the Shura Ittihad-ul-Mujahideen (Central Council of the allied Taliban groups in Pakistan).
On 04/09/2009, Mullah Nazeer Ahmed was interviewed by Al Qaeda media branch known as As-Sahab. He expressed in the interview a most extreme attitude toward USA and its ally, the Pakistani regime.
On 01/02/2013 Mullah Nazeer Ahmed has been killed by a US UAV drone strike in South Waziristan, Pakistan, near the regional capital Wana. Reports say Mullah Nazir’s deputy, Ratta Khan, was also killed in the attack.
