– DAY OF TERROR

Since the WTC attack on 02/26/1993 was carried out by members of Al Farook Mosque,in Brooklyn, the mosque came under intensive investigation and surveillance. 

 

An Egyptian immigrant Emad Salem, a former Major in the Egyptian army, who arrived to USA in 1988, was recruited as an FBI informant in the local Russian mafia. Emad Salem was also a member of Al Farook Mosque when he was recruited by the FBI as an informant in the mosque. 

 

Emad Salem already offered earlier to the FBI to spy after the Al Farook Mosque cell but was not taken seriously prior to the WTC attack. 

 

During 3 months Emad Salem filmed and recorded members of Al Farook Mosque, ploting under the supervision of the Mosques’ Imam the blind Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, a mega terror attack in New York aimed to paralyze the city (what was later called the “ Day Of Terror ” plot or the “HOLLAND Tunnel plot”) 

 

The plan was to explode nearly simultaneously bombs across New York City. The final list was narrowed down to five sites, including the U.N headquarter, the HOLLAND Tunnel, the Lincoln Tunnel, the George Washington Bridge and the Manhattan Federal Building, which housed the FBI New York offices. It would be a highly synchronized attack, a style now considered an Al Qaeda trademark.  

 

On 06/24/1993 FBI broke into a warehouse in New Jersey and arrested four suspects while mixing fertilizer and fuel oil for their bombs. All the four were members of the Al Farook Mosque and were identified as Siddig Siddig Ali, Ibrahim El Gabrowny, Tarig Elhassen and Mohammed Saleh. 

 

The day later the blind Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, Clement Rodney Hampton and dozens others were arrested too. 

 

Siddig Siddig Ali a 32 year old Sudanese immigrant and the ringleader of The “Day Of Terror” plot pleaded guilty on all charges and gave testimony as a state witness against the other defendants including the blind Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman. Siddig Siddig Ali was somehow connected to the spiritual leader of Sudan – Sheikh Hassan Turabi. His location today is unknown.     

 

Ibrahim El Gabrowny, 45, was convicted on 10 counts ranging from seditious conspiracy, assault on an officer of the United States, and identification documents fraud. He was sentenced to 57 years imprisonment

 

Tarig Elhassan, 40, a Sudanese associated to Siddig Siddig Ali, was convicted on 3 counts including seditious conspiracy, bombing conspiracy, and attempted bombing. He was sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment.

 

Mohamed Saleh, 39, a Palestinian Hamas operative, was convicted of 3 counts including seditious conspiracy, bombing conspiracy, and attempted bombing. He was sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment.

 

Fares Khallafalla, 33, was convicted of 3 counts including seditious conspiracy, bombing conspiracy, and attempted bombing. He was sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment.

 

Amir Abdelgani, 35, was convicted of 3 counts including seditious conspiracy, bombing conspiracy, and attempted bombing. Abdelgani was sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment.

 

Fadil Abdelgani, 33, the brother of Amir Abdelgani, was convicted of 3 counts including seditious conspiracy, bombing conspiracy, and attempted bombing. He was sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment.

 

Victor Alverez, 29, was convicted of 5 counts including seditious conspiracy, bombing conspiracy, attempted bombing, interstate transportation of a firearm, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Alvarez was sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment.

 

Matarawy Mohamed Said Saleh pleaded guilty to count 5: bombing conspiracy, and was sentenced to 3 years probation.

 

Earl Grant, a  Jamaat al-fukra member, pleaded guilty to count 1: conspiracy to transport explosives, and received 3 years probation.
