– 15 POLICEMEN KILLED IN PAKISTAN
As it was predicted, following the Khyber offensive of the PAKISTANI ARMY, which was launched on Saturday 06/28/2008 morning, a wave of suicide attacks hit the Pakistani hinterland.
On Sunday 07/06/2008 a suicide bomber attacked a police station in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, near the city’s Melody Market minutes after a police meeting to discuss security measures in Islamabad was dispersed. The attack occurred amide tight security measure because of fears of such an attack to be carried out to mark the first anniversary of the Lal Mosque crisis of 07/2007.
According to a police spokesman the bomber managed to conceal explosives under his clothes and get into the secure area.
Summary –
It is almost certain that the suicide bomber was informed about the meeting, the presence of senior police officers on the scene and managed to infiltrate into the secure zone due to collaboration within the police ranks.
