– EASTBOURNE ARRESTS
Two days after the high profile arrest of Sajid Badat, on 11/27/2003, in his home in Gloucester,England, the Anti-Terror police squad raided on 11/29/2003 a flat in Eastbourne, South Sussex and detained 5 suspects on suspicion of funding terrorism using a “large scale” cheque and credit card fraud. A sixth suspect was released after a short time.
Noureddinne Mouleff, a 36-year-old resident of Eastbourne; 28-year-old Mohammed Khatimi, of Eastbourne; 20-year-old Samir Adimi, of no fixed address; and 28-year-old Mohammed Rida, of St Leonards, Mostapha Safi, 32, of Leytonstone, East London was arrested in London. The men are all of North African origin. All the detainees were charged with conspiring to defraud clearing banks of large sums of money.
The ringleader Noureddinne Moulef, an Algerian citizen, was also charged with being in possession of articles or items in connection with an act of terrorism. His case was separated from the case of the other offenders arrested in Eastbourne on 11/29/2003.
Eventually, only Noureddinne Mouleff was charged in UK with articles related to terror financing and terror activity.
