* Shaukat Hussain Guru, a Muslim Indian citizen was born in Baramullah district of Kashmir in the late 60s’. He is the cousin of Ghazi Baba.
Shaukat Hussain Guru was a student in the Zakir Hussain College, Delhi University, where he, probably, got acquainted to Dr. Abdul Rehman Geelani.
On 12/15/2001 Indian Police arrested Shaukat Hussain with his wife Navjot Sandhu in Srinagar for suspicions that they helped to coordinate and organize the INDIAN Parliament attack on 12/13/2001. The police had evidences that Shaukat Hussain was in Delhi with Mohammad Afzal on the day of the attack and both returned together to Srinagar after the attack.
On 12/18/2002 the Indian court sentenced Shaukat Hussain to death. On 08/04/2005 his wife was, eventually acquitted from all charges by the Indian Supreme Court. Shaukat Hussain’s death sentence was changed and reduced to 10 years imprisonment.
Shaukat Hussain was released from the Indian jail in 12/2010.
