Islamic Forum Europe – IFE is an Islamic organization based in Tower Hamlets, South East Londonstan, with at least two branches in the UK, one of them in Birmingham. Its website states it has branches in “most of the European countries including: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland“. Mohammed Abdul Bari, who was the former president of the Islamic Forum Europe – IFE, is the current Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain.
Islamic Forum Europe – IFE’s youth wing is called the Young Muslim Organization -YMO also with several branches across Britain. YMO is very active among the Bangladeshi community in UK.
The YMO was established mainly by Bangladeshi youths in East London during the period of racial riots in East and South London, in 1978. Its women’s wing is Muslimaat UK.
Islamic Forum Europe – IFE is running Islamic Study Circles, Islamic history Seminars, Conventions and Islamic camps of cultural exhibitions for non-Muslims and the annual Discover Islam Month, Arabic Language & Shariaa (Islamic law) courses. They also run the Insight and Discover Islam magazines and Local Radio stations (particularly during Ramadan).
Islamic Forum Europe – IFE goals are, as they claim in their website: developing Mosques, schools and Islamic Centers, raising funds for humanitarian relief, participating in local, national and global issues affecting the Ummah (The world wide Islamic society) and humanity at large.
