Rafiq Abdus Sabir, 52, a medicine doctor from Saudi descent was arrested two years ago near Boca Raton, Florida, USA on 05/29/2005 at the same time with Tarik Ibn Osman Shah, 44, aka Tarik Jenkins or Abu Musab, a veteran of Al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan in 1990, was arrested in the New York area on suspicions of conspiring to provide material support to Al Qaeda. Both men were recorded by the FBI “allegedly pledging their support and loyalty to al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden”
According to FBI investigation Tarik Ibn Osman Shah and Rafiq Abdus Sabir engaged in multiple meetings and conversations with a confidential source as well as an FBI special agent Ali Soufan, who was acting in an undercover capacity and posing as an al Qaeda operative and recruiter.
Their trial was opened in 05/2007 in the District Court in Manhattan and Rafiq Abdus Sabir testified on Wednesday 05/09/2007. He denied all the accusations and said despite all the evidence against him “no way I’m going to align myself with Al Qaeda “
“That is just not me I never had any thoughts about them whatsoever and all the nasty things they have done around the world, killing people, innocent people mostly and the big atrocities they have done around the world.”
