– SENIOR HIZBULLAH AND IRANIAN OFFICERS KILLED

Several Hizbullah officers and an Iranian Brigadier General were killed, on Sunday 01/18/2015, when an alleged Israeli helicopter fired two missiles in the Syrian province of Quneitra near the Israeli Golan Heights, the group said. They were killed during a field reconnaissance mission in the Mazraat Amal village, about 10 k”m North-East of Quneitra, the message said.

The son of slain Hizbullah commander Imad Mughniyah, Jihad Mughniyah (1), was killed in the attack. The dead also reportedly included Mohammed Issa (2), a Hezbollah commander responsible for its Syrian and Iraqi operations. the Iranian Revolutionary Guard General Mohammed Ali Allahdadi (3) kept his cellphone on in a sensitive area targeted by Israeli intelligence, according to Lebanese sources..

According to the source, Israeli drones were present in the area during the attack. Last month, the Syrian army said it shot down an Israeli reconnaissance drone flying over Quneitra province.

In August, five rockets fired from Syria hit the Israeli sector of the Golan Heights and in July Israel shelled Syrian army positions after a Syrian rocket hit Israel.

Syria and Israel are officially in a state of war, and Israel has occupied the Golan Heights since 1967. The occupation is not recognized by the international community. Six Hizbullah officers and two Iranians were killed in the event.

Israel always said they will prevent the building of an Iranian infrastructure on the Golan Height on the border with Israel.

Hizbullah retaliated the attack on 01/28/2015 morning when 2 Israeli soldiers were killed and 7 injured by anti-tank missiles fiired from the lebanese side of Mount Hermon at an Israeli military convoy.in the Har Dov (Mount of the bear) area near the Lebanon border, as mortar shells were fired at nearby areas. IDF forces responded with artillery fire, shelling several targets in southern Lebanon. A Spanish UNIFIL soldier was killed in the strikes. Israel is very sensitive to the possibility of kidnapping one of its soldiers.

The two soldiers killed were named as Captain Yochai Kalangel, 25, and Sergeant Dor Chaim Nini, 20, both of them from the Givati Brigade. The airline between the two incidents is about 30 k”m.
