KENYA DEPORTED 4 FOR LINKS TO TERROR
A Muslim cleric in Kenya said, on Thursday 03/25/2010, police deported three men from the United Arab Emirates – UAE and one from Oman because they suspect them of having links to terror groups, though the four say they are tourists.
The chairman of the Supreme Council of Kenyan Muslims said police arrested the men Tuesday 03/23/2010 in the coastal city of Mombasa after they got off a flight from Kenya‘s capital.
Sheik Mordhar Khitamy said police told him they became suspicious after officers saw the four bribe immigration officials to enter Kenya on Tuesday. He says the incident is an illustration of discrimination against Muslims. A deputy police chief in Mombasa said he was not aware of the case. A police spokesman in Nairobi did not answer the phone.
In another development the Kenyan police said the terror suspect Hussein Hashi Hemed Farah, who disappeared from police custody in Kenya earlier this month (see – Suspect 03.22.10) is wanted in Australia for planning suicide attacks on a Sydney army base, a police source said (see also – Sydney Cell).
