– HOUSNI JAMAL & OTHERS – THE Al-MAGHREBIS

 

Housni  Jamal, a Moroccan citizen, was born on 02/22/1983 in Morocco. Maghreb means in Arabic “The West” and is the common name to the West of North Africa.  This is where his nickname “Al MAGHREBI” comes from.

Housni  Jamal was arrested in Milan on 11/27/2003 in suspicion that he was a member of Ansar al Islam operating in Milan 03 Cell.

On 09/16/2006 Housni  Jamal, along with Mohamed Majid, was convicted for criminal association with the aim of international terrorism” and was sentenced to 7 years in prison. Housni  Jamal was probably a low rank activist in Ansar al Islam network in Europe.

BOUYAHIA MAHER BEN ABDELAZIZ
– ABU DANR AL TUNISi –

 

Bouyahia Maher Ben Abdelaziz, a Tunisian citizen, was born in Tunisia in 1970. He was arrested in Milan in connection with the Milan 03 Cell on 11/27/2003 on suspicions of recruiting volunteers to Iraq War as an activist in Ansar al Islam network in Europe.  

On 01/24/2005 he and his Tunisian friend Toumi  Ali Ben Sassi and other defendant was acquitted from all charges related to terror but was sentenced to three years imprisonment for forging passports and other documents and abetting illegal immigration.

There is no accessible information about him after his release from jail in 2006. It most likely that, according to Italian policy, he was deported back to Tunisia.

TOUMI ALI BEN SASSI –
THE TUNIsIAN”

 

Toumi Ali Ben Sassi was born in Tunisia on 12/24/1965 and moved to live in Milan, Italy. He is married and a devout Muslim.  In 11/25/2003 Toumi  Ali Ben Sassi was arrested for allegedly providing logistical support and papers to Ansar al IslamMilan 03 Cell that raised money and recruited volunteers to Iraq War.

 

 On 01/24/2005 Toumi  Ali Ben Sassi, with other two defendants, the Tunisian Bouyahia Maher  Ben Abdelaziz and Mohamed Daki were acquitted from all charges related to terror on the grounds that the defendants indeed recruited volunteers to Iraq but the men they have sent to Iraq were guerrillas and not terrorists. Toumi  Ali Ben Sassi and Bouyahia Maher  had been sentenced to three years imprisonment for forging passports and other documents and abetting illegal immigration.

In 2006 Toumi  Ali Ben Sassi was released from jail but there is no accessible information about him after his release.
