– DR. SALEM RAFEI & ABDEL HADIME KAMOUSS

* DR.  SALEM RAFEI 

 

Dr.  Salem Rafei was born in 1962 in Lebanon, is a Lebanese citizen and one of the cofounders of the Al-Nur Mosque in Berlin in 2001. During the first years the AL-Nur Mosque Dr.  Salem Rafei openly supported Palestinian suicide attacks and called Muslims to kill all unbelievers and kings standing in the way of Islam.

Dr.  Salem Rafei was arrested on the evening of 03/20/2002. German federal police searched his home and the mosque, when investigating the Al-Haramain Foundation activities at the mosque and his relation with the Saudi Attache Mohammed Jaber Fakihi and his relation with the Hamburg Cell and Mounir el Motassadeq.

In early 2003 Dr.  Salem Rafei, when heading the Al-Nur Mosque, gave permission to Ihsan Garnaoui to use one of the Mosque’s room to conduct close combat training for interested Muslims.

In 2006 after a visit to Lebanon, Dr. Salem Rafei was denied to re-enter Germany and he was replaced by Abdel Hadime Kamouss. Dr. Salem Rafei returned to Lebanon and became the Imam of Al-Taqwa Mosque in Tripoli.

When the civil war breached out in Syria, in Early 2011, he beacme an outspoken blunt supporter of the Syrian Sunni opposition and a strong foe of Syrian prsesident Bashar al-Assad and the Hizbullah in Lebanon. His Mosque, the Taqwa Mosque, was a target of a twin car bombs attack in Tripoli, on Friday 08/23/2013, in which dozens of people were killed and over 400 were injured (see – SYRIAN DILEMA ).

* ABDEL HADIME KAMOUSS  

 

Abdel Hadime Kamouss was born in Morocco but grew up in Germany. Since 2001 he was one of the active figures in the Al-Nur Mosque, founded in 2001 in Berlin. 

Following Ihsan Garnaoui’s arrest, in 03/2003, Abdel  Kamouss was questioned by the police and asked to testify against Ihsan Garnaoui. Abdel  Kamouss found himself in a dilemma and called Dr. Hassan Dabbagh to ask for advice. The conversation was recorded by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the German Security service – LfV. In generally Dr. Hassan Dabbagh advised Abdel  Kamouss to “forget” and by that to cover up for Ihsan Garnaoui and that what he, actually, did in court.

In 2006 Abdel Hadime Kamouss replaced Dr.  Salem Rafei as the head of the Al-Nur Mosque. In 2006, under his inspection, Pierre Vogel started his preaching career as a leading Salafist preacher (see –Salafiya).

Today (late 2010) Abdel  Kamouss lives in Berlin-Reinickendorf, next to his activities in the Al-Nur Mosque, where he is active under the name Abdul-Adhim Abu Abdir-Rahman, he also preaches occasionally in the Masjid-E-Bilal mosque in Berlin and is honorary member and spiritual leader of the “Tawhid Berlin“.
