– 42 TERROR CAMPS IN PAKISTAN STILL OPERATIONAL
42 terror training camps housed in Northern Areas and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, who belongs to different terror groups such as Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, led by Sayed Salahuddin, Jaish-e-Mohammed, with around 2,200 trainees, are still operational in Pakistan despite Pakistan efforts to uproot Islamic militancy in Pakistan, the Multi-Agency Centre (MAC) in India claimed, on Saturday 06/20/2009.
The training camps are directing their activities against India and trains recruits in sabotage and military tactics. This startling revelation has been made by Multi-Agency Centre (MAC), which runs under the aegis of union home ministry in India.
Based on inputs by the entire gamut of Indian intelligence agencies, the MAC in its latest assessment has held that there are at least 34 active terror training camps in Pakistan, while eight have been identified as holding camps for the trained recruits.
A majority of these camps are housed in Northern Areas and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. According to MAC, a number of these camps were shifted or emptied after Pakistan came under terror scanner in the aftermath of Mumbai Carnage.
