– MUSLIM CONVERT GIULIANO DELNEVO KILLED IN SYRIA

 

According to intelligence and security official in Italy, on 06/18/2013, a Muslim convert Giuliano Delnevo, 24, who uses also the Arabic name Ibrahim, form Genova, has been killed in Syria fighting Bashar Assad’s Syrian army (see – SYRIAN DILEMA ). The death of Giuliano Delnevo. is not officially confirmed. Italian security services suspect that about 20 Italian Muslims went abroad to serve the Global Jihad. 

According to Italian sources Giuliano Delnevo – Ibrahim, who converted to Islam in 2008, was already investigated in Genoa for the crime of enlisting the purposes of terrorism. Delnevo’s name has been entered on the docket of the Prosecutor of Genova since 11/2009. The investigation against him, coordinated by the prosecutor Silvio Franz, also covered other three subjects, Italian and North African – the Maghreb. 

In recent years, according to his acquaintances, Giuliano Delnevo – Ibrahim was used to dress as a Sufi, wearing a white robe and a turban.

Among the photos posted on Giuliano Delnevo;s Facebook page is the figure of Abdullah Azzam, who inspired Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, which has called some of its militant groups on his name – the Abdullah al-Azzam Brigades (see also- Saleh al-Qaraawi ).

Giuliano Delnevo-Ibrahim had gone to Syria towards the end of 2012, although contacts, and perhaps one of his recruitment, had occurred in Italy in mid-2012. Investigators are working to figure out if Delnevo Ibrahim has been trained in Italy.
