* Ahmad Mohammad Ali Al-Hada, is a Yemeni citizen, who lived in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital. His origin is from Dhamar province, 100 kilometres South of Sanaa. From 1996 Ahmed Al-Hada operated, with his son Samir Al-Hada (killed on 02/13/2002), a communication center in Sanaa between Al Qaeda headquarter in Afghanistan and cells of the organization in the Middle East and East Africa.
Ahmed Al-Hada is a veteran Mujahidin (Islamic Holy Wariors) and close friend of Osama bin Laden. His son-in-law is one of The 9/11 hijacker – Khalid al-Mihdhar.
Ahmed Al-Hada is in frequent satellite phone connections with Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan. The use of the satellite phone enabled USA electronic espionage agency – NSA – to monitor and intercept Osama Bin Laden communication and location as early as from late 1996. That information enabled the arrest of Mohamed al-Owhali, one of the 08/07/1998 attackers on USA embassies in Kenya and Tanzania on 08/25/1998 and the retaliation cruise missiles attack on Al Qaeda bases in Afghanistan and Sudan, in an attempt to kill Osama Bin Laden personally on 08/20/1998.
Ahmed Al-Hada continued to use the satellite phone connection unaware to his value for USA agencies until after the USS Cole attack on 10/12/2000.
Two of Ahmed Al-Hada’s brothers were killed in Afghanistan during operation “Absolute Justice” and a third brother, Abdullah Al-Hada, is wanted by the Yemen authorities for terror charges.
Ahmed Al-Hada is in Yemeni custody by 2006; it has not been stated when or how he was captured. Today (10/2007) Ahmed Al-Hada’s deeds or whereabouts remain unknown and it is possible that he was released in some deal with Yemen tribes.
