-INDIA, SURAT, MORE BOMBES FOUND
Just three days after the Ahmedabad Bombings, at least 12 small bombs have been found, on Tuesday 07/29/2008, and defused in the city of Surat in the Indian state of Gujarat, police say. Surat is about 230 km South of Ahmedabad.
Bomb disposal squad is working to defuse two more bombs found in the city, which is the hub of India’s textile and diamond trade.
The latest explosive devices were found hidden in small packages placed in crowded areas of Surat. Each one appears to have contained explosives, batteries and a detonator but none had timers attached.
Cities across India have been on high alert since the Bangalore Bombs on last Friday and Ahmedabad in Gujarat state a day later.
Summary ;
It appears that for some reason the Surat would be perpetrators, who are, most likely, linked to the recent Islamic terror campaign in India, panicked and got rid from their bombs before possibly being exposed.
The arrest of Sajid Mansuri, on 08/11/2008, unraveled the whole plot and the linkage between the Bangalore Bombs, the Ahmedabad Bombings and the Surat bombs (see also – Mankhrud Arrests).
