– DOZENS OF EGYPTIAN TROOPS KILLED IN TERROR RAMPAGE IN SINAI

Two days after the successful attempt on the Egyptian State Prosecutor Hisham Barakat and the second anniversary of the deposition of the former President Mohammed Morsi, on Wednesday 07/01/2015, the Islamic State militants have launched a wave of attacks on the security forces in Egypt’s restive Sinai Peninsula. Over 70 fighters attacked simultaneously over 10 posts and locations in North Western Sinai in El-Arish, Sheikh Zuweid, Rafah and the area in a well coordinated attack they used mortars for cover, ant-tank missiles and anti-air missiles to paralyse the Egyptian gunship helicopters, The islamic fighters took control, for a short time, on the main roads in the erea and plant a lot of mines to prevent Egyptian renforcment and actually ground the Egyptian Army to the defence . They also used three huge car bombs, driven by suicide bombers to penetrate the Egyptian main headquarters in the region .

Medical sources said as many as 50 soldiers had died. Egyptian Military soources said as many as 22 of the terrorists were killed in the fighting.

Clashes are continuing in the area, with militants reportedly roaming the streets of Sheikh Zuweid and besieging the town’s main police station.

Islamic State’s local affiliate, Sinai Province, said in a statement posted online that it had targeted 15 security sites and carried out three suicide attacks.

The assault is one of the biggest since jihadists based in Sinai stepped up their attacks after the military overthrew Islamist President Mohammed Morsi two years ago. At least 600 police and armed forces personnel have since been killed.

The attack is a major blow the Egypt’s president Abdel-Fatah Sisi .

* Using the event in Sinai as an opportunity and an excuse, Egyptian police forces, on 07/01/2015, killed 9 “wanted militants” after storming their apartment here, a security official said. Alleged Exchange of fire between security forces and militants took place in 6 October city in Greater Cairo when the police conducted a raid to arrest the militants, he said. The militants, including Naser el-Hafy, a Muslim Brotherhood lawyer, were in a meeting in an apartment. It must be noted that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is not connected, whatsoever not the Hisham Barakat’s assassination or the Sinai terror rampage, both committed by the Sinai branch of ISIS, a foe to the Brotherhood.

** A day earlier, on 06/30/2015, Militants from I.S.I.S threatened to turn the Gaza Strip into another of their Middle East fiefdoms, accusing Hamas, the organization that rules Gaza Strip, of being insufficiently stringent about religious enforcement.

“We will uproot the state of the Jews (Israel) and you and Fatah, and all of the secularists are nothing and you will be over-run by our creeping multitudes,” said a masked I.S.I.S member in the message addressed to the “tyrants of Hamas,” according to Reuters news agency.

Epilogue :

Few hours after an Egyptian Military spokesman, on Friday 07/03/2015 morning. that the army is in 100% control on Northern Sinai, ISIS fired 2 rockets from the area into Israel putting in question the army pretensions.

Also on Friday ISIS in Sinai distributed through the social networks the pictures of an Egyptian helicopter wreckage they claimed was an Apache gunship they shot down with an anti-air missile ( the authentication of the picture could not be confirmed ).
