LONDON’S RUSSELL SQUARE STABBING ATTACK

A Norwegian national of Somali origin, 19, later identifies as Zakaria Bulhan (pic-L), armed with a knife started, on Wednesday atr about 22:30 local time to attack people in London’s Russell Square, a park near the site of London 7/7 suicide bombing in 2005.

A One American woman was killed and five others injured by the assailant with suspected mental health issues who went on the rampage with a knife in central London, an attack police said could be linked to terrorism.

Armed police were called in. Police have said that there is no evidence of radicalization and the 19-year-old suspect has been detained. The suspect emigrated from Norway to the UK in 2002, at the age of five, according to the Norwegian Embassy.

** Scotland Yard said, on Thursday 08/04/2016, it could “not rule out” the incident had been a terror attack but police say the investigation is moving away from any terror theory. “While the investigation is not yet complete, all of the work we have done so far increasingly points to this incident having been triggered by mental health issues.”
